au revoir |
french dinner: went out to dinner with the yr12 french girls, juliette (student teacher's assistant from nancy, france) et various respective boyfriends. was incredibly fun, although we had to pretty much shout to make ourselves heard. had chicken caesar salad and zoe and i had a discussion on how unhealthy and cholesterol-y avocado is; and then a latte. and then apparently we can't count because we were originally $50 short to pay bill. but eventually, coughed up enough money. $23 for dinner. i'm pretty proud.
last-minute packing for stump as we speak (or rather, as i type), and i have a feeling we've forgotten something BIG... so if mum reads this:
- lilos
- PILLOWS
- luke
- foooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
- the internet
- the WORLD *evil cackle*
will miss y'all... and wish you were all there with me at stump, because it's a FANTASTiC experience. and those i asked who couldn't come -- :(, tim -- i am SOOOO sorry, and will make sure you are definitely there next year. *pinky swear*. unless you don't want to come... in which case, nyuh. house music tomorrow -- have a feeling i'll make a fool of myself, but hey. what is yr 12 for if not making a complete fool of yourself on stage, huh? merci beaucoup et au revoir. will go email lynn now. |

bori: i think it's that i realise i can do it in one night and get a decent mark... so why bother starting earlier?
von: and that, darling bori, is my life story... and i think i managed to rhyme. ------
i never want this year to end but the end couldn't come sooner. -- i'm gonna miss these darling friends who keep me from completely breaking down, who are just there for me, and who think that i'm absolutely gorgeous, even when they know i'm not.

WHAT IS A SISTER?
A SISTER IS SOMEONE MORE SPECIAL THAN WORDS. She is love mixed with friendship and a million favourite memories that will always last. A sister is a hand within your hand enfolded with love and understanding. She gives you a feeling that makes you wonder what you would ever do without her, and no one is loved so dearly. ::dot::lynn::nay::ling::ann::debbie::rads::mutsumi::tara::dionne::rachel:: |

Your Love Song Is | You and Me by Lifehouse "Cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do Nothing to prove And it's you and me and all of the people And I don't know why, I can't keep my eyes off of you" For you, love is very intense and a little difficult to express. |
the scary thing is -- this is one of my favourite songs. and is definitely the one i put on when i start listening to the lifehouse album. it's quite scary that i fit whatever mold blogthings has, because sometimes, it's strangely accurately. que bizarre. too bad i'm wasting time taking the 'girls only' quizzes. lizzie and johnny, here i come. |

is it possible to be so disappointed when you had no hope to start off with? spring concert was -- i'm sorry, claire -- not the best i've ever performed in. we could have done with more practice, i think. we're ok with the singing, but knowing when to come in, and singing over the symphony orchestra tripped us up. handel's hallelujah chorus was the best. was that an encore or was it planned?
hmmm... in any case, i really, really have to start my english and japanese oral. and elizabeth barrett browning is starting to make me puke with her sweetness... it's so... sickly sweet. |

sich verlieben |
If thou must love me, let it be for nought Except for love’s sake only. Do not say ‘I love her for her smile… her look… her way Of speaking gently,… for a trick of thought That falls in well with mine, and certes brought A sense of pleasant ease on such a day’ — For these things in themselves, Belovèd, may Be changed, or change for thee, — and love, so wrought, May be unwrought so. Neither love me for Thine own dear pity’s wiping my cheeks dry,— A creature might forget to weep, who bore Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby! But love me for love’s sake, that evermore Thou mayst love on, through love’s eternity

am reading northanger abbey and becoming increasingly annoyed with catherine morland because she's just so oblivious. now i'm scared that i'm that oblivious too. i probably am. oh dear.
maths :: did... something. and i'm sure we have homework too. sampling... theory. sampling theory. claire and i found this probability simulation thing on our calculators and have been playing with it. it's actually quite amusing.
german :: 50 mins left of 'goodbye lenin' and frau schiessl threatened to start the movie with or without us, so bori and i practically ran out of maths and got there first. too bad i'm dodgy with technology and successfully managed to get it to go all weird. but it worked in the end and we watched the end with plenty of time. it's so sad, but happy at the same time. bittersweet.
japanese :: did grammar revision again, and had to do 5 min 'mini-lessons' where each of us have to 'teach' the class a grammar point that we picked out of a hat. sent writing practice to teacher and got it back. i hate seeing red markings on paper.
free :: researched amelie for english creative next term and then read a bit about john donne, but got distracted. very distracted. i should find a place to do my work quietly. but then i'd probably just start reading northanger abbey again. should find self-control or motivation.
french :: finished watched 'le placard' and laughed at daniel auteuil because gerard depardieu didn't appear today. then discussed film and wrote vocab list. then helped mariam prepare for alliance interview later today. how exciting!
free :: picked daniel up, went back home, made him get changed and took a shower. then packed his toys in a bag, grabbed his dinosaur video and piled him and everything else in the car and drove to school in time for fashion parade rehearsal. you know, that prehistoric park business is actually really gory. but daniel seems to enjoy it and the rest.
now :: am sitting at home, reluctantly trying to get myself motivated to study. maybe i'll take a short nap before dot comes home from work. am getting increasingly frustrated with this whole school thing and just want to leave -- 33 days left. just want to rest, but so many assessment items before stump. should write japanese oral so i can get to the fun bit.

en vérité |
Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove: O no! it is an ever-fixéd mark That looks on tempests, and is never shaken; It is the star to every wandering bark, Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken. Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle’s compass come; Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But hears it out ev’n to the edge of doom:- If this be error, and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved. -- Sonnet CXVI
et en plus important... In faith, I do not love thee with mine eyes, For they in thee a thousand errors note; But 'tis my heart that loves what they despise, Who in despite of view is pleased to dote; Nor are mine ears with thy tongue's tune delighted, Nor tender feeling, to base touches prone, Nor taste, nor smell, desire to be invited To any sensual feast with thee alone: But my five wits nor my five senses can Dissuade one foolish heart from serving thee, Who leaves unsway'd the likeness of a man, Thy proud hearts slave and vassal wretch to be: Only my plague thus far I count my gain, That she that makes me sin awards me pain. -- Sonnet CXLI
expect some more Donne and some Barrett Browning, and maybe even more Mr. Darcy in the next few weeks |

AST's over!!! I can't believe it, but the level of concentration of Year 12's today was absolutely atrocious. English was the worst, being a double and everything. Poor Mrs. Bardwell, but we did have a nice discussion about Georgian and Victorian women. We end up having really feminist rants half the time. Ahaha... woman's magic touch. I love that.
Two frees today and did überhaupt nichts. First one, talked to Claire about hacking and yucky ICT agreement. And the other one, helped Tessa with her English creative and then talked about Shakespeare sonnets. |

Your Birthdate: June 13 | You're dominant and powerful. You always need to be in charge. While others respect your competence, you can be a bit of a dictator. Hard working and serious, you never let yourself down. You are exact and accurate - and you expect others to be the same way. Your strength: You always get the job done Your weakness: You're a perfectionist to a fault Your power color: Gray Your power symbol: Checkmark Your power month: April |
What Does Your Birth Date Mean?
You Are Sunrise | You enjoy living a slow, fulfilling life. You enjoy living every moment, no matter how ordinary. You are a person of reflection and meditation. You start and end every day by looking inward. Caring and giving, you enjoy making people happy. You're often cooking for friends or buying them gifts. All in all, you know how to love life for what it is - not for how it should be. |

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, in your name I will lift up my hands
