Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love.

~Shakespeare

one… two… three… *sigh* :P

I love Shakespeare… he’s cool… I love reading his poetry and his plays as long as I don’t have to analyse them, I’ll be fine… We’re doing poetry in English now, and even though we’re not actually doing Shakepeare cos he wasn’t a 19th century poet, our poetry book’s got excerpts from his sonnets and his plays… favourite one at the moment:

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixéd mark
That looks on tempests, and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But hears it out ev’n to the edge of doom:-
If this be error, and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

~ [Sonnet CXVI], Shakespeare

“Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds” – I like that… remind me not to settle for second best when it comes to love? I don’t want to find years into my marriage that my type of love is the one which alters when things change, when circumstances change, when my husband changes…

gah… why am I even thinking of this just yet? it’s gonna be a few years yet before I even start thinking of being ready to get married (although some people I know are ready, or think they are).

Crazy crazy hectic weekend. Spring Concert all over. *breathes a sigh of relief* Not that it was bad, just crazily hectic. Really quite fun. This was my second last one… as we were lining up I was thinking how much I’d miss this. Cos you don’t get this sort of opportunity when you’re all grown up and in uni… No choirs just for fun… *sigh* ah well… I still have another year of music… I’ll just have to make the best of it, won’t i?

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, in your name I will lift up my hands psalm63.1-4
